We take a look at what's new, rare and curious at Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2011

The name Royal Flora Ratchaphruek has become almost synonymous with Chiang Mai, which was home to the world-class horticultural exhibition hosted by the government in 2006 in honour of the 60th anniversary of His Majesty the King's accession to the throne. Running for three months, the exposition was a resounding success, drawing more than three million visitors from across the globe.

More than just flower power

The International Horticultural Exposition returns to Chiang Mai next month and it promises to be an amazing showcase of gardens from around the world.

We all know Chiang Mai is the best winter destination, where we chill out in the mild breeze, admire the blue sky and inhale the fragrance of beautiful blooms. This year, it will be even more tempting, as the "Rose of Lanna" is putting on the International Horticultural Exposition: Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2011 from November 9 to February 15.

Krung Thep Maha Nakon

Krung Thep Maha Nakon as known as "Bangkok" is the capital, largest urban area, and primary of Thailand.  In fact the city's full name is very long. Here it is....

"Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahintharayutthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Phiman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit"

The name was given by King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke and later edited by King Mongkut.

Full name of Bangkok was written in front of Bangkok Administration Building.

Hello everybody!!

How's everything going lately?? It rains almost everyday in Bangkok and I believe for all area in Thailand as well. So don't forget to bring an umbrella with you ;)

Talking about an umbrella I would like to suggest you to visit Bo Sang district in Chiangmai where umbrella making has been one of the traditional crafts.
